AHU Vice Pres. Yu Visits Azerbaijan

Late in June, Mr. Yu Benli, vice president of Anhui University (AHU), headed a delegation to pay a visit to Azerbaijan at the invitation of Baku State University (BSU). In-depth discussions were conducted between this delegation and related organizations in Azerbaijan, under topics concerning strengthening the construction of Confucius Institute, improving levels of intercollegiate exchanges and promoting educational and people-to-people exchanges with countries related to China’s Belt and Road Initiatives proposal.

BSU’s vice president welcomed the delegation of Yu and pointed out that the Confucius Institute at BSU is becoming increasingly influential and has been a major part of BSU. He expressed his gratitude for the support offered by AHU and expected further and all-round cooperation via the platform of Confucius Institute.

Pres. Yu co-hosted the Council meeting of Confucius Institute with vice president of BSU. Both sides expressed their wishes to strengthen cooperation in terms of improving teaching staff of teachers of Chinese, training of local teachers, academic exchanges and so on. They also proposed to hold high-level academic forums through the platform of Confucius Institute and promoting educational and people-to-people exchanges among countries in the Belt and Road area.

Yu also visited two teaching venues of Confucius Institute in Azerbaijan, and met with officials from China’s embassy in Azerbaijan and Hanban.
